CPW Full Service Division
Who we are and what we do.
Lafayette Drug Co. (LDC) was started in 1941 as typical wholesaler of the day. At the time even aspirin was considered a drug, hence the name.
CPW/LDC has evolved from those days into a full service distributor, whose customer base includes convenience, supermarket, college bookstores, travel centers and pharmacies.
After our merger with Abes in 2005 we have become the # 1 novelty distributor in Louisiana along with being the largest Zippo distributor in a six state area.
As a full service distributor ( also known as a rack jobber or service merchandiser) we normally are given an area in the store to merchandise some of our 5500 novelty, HBC and GM items. We set up our department, order the goods and merchandise them fully. We guarantee the sale of each item, so the retailer never has to worry about being overstocked.
